John Carroll is pleased to announce Ms. Kelly Pulaski has been named Girls Varsity Field Hockey head coach and will take over coaching duties for the reigning championship team for the 2020 fall season. Coach Pulaski, who works at Harford Community College as a Coordinator for Youth Programs, is also a coach for the well-respected H20 field hockey club program run by former JC Coach Alice Puckett. Prior to joining John Carroll, she also coached at Fallston High School. As an athlete, Coach Pulaski played four years of Division I field hockey at Appalachian State University and was a four year Varsity player at Rising Sun High School, where she earned All County recognition and played in multiple state and regional championships. As a young student-athlete, from age five to 18 she played competitively for a nationally ranked club team and was invited to Team USA’s Futures Program.
Coach Pulaski, who credits field hockey with helping to develop her into the person she is today, says her coaching philosophy is to teach young athletes to recognize the importance of teamwork and to appreciate all skills and lessons they can learn from being a part of a team. She says, “Our team will be a family. We will grow together, challenge each other, lift each other up when needed and above all celebrate each other. I am looking forward to establishing a strong team culture and a great first season at JC!”
